About The Website

Hello! Welcome, again, to the Marshmot, WI webpage!

I'm Darion Stern, DDS, and I'm the one who is writing and coding the site! I'm not sure how many questions you may have, but I can waffle about a few things.

For a few years, Marshmot has relied on word of mouth, whether online or by actual mouth. There have been occasional bits of personal marketing for events and from locals, but not much in the way of definitive advertisement. The great name of our town may be on many dead forums or defunct personal sites, but we never had our own. Until now!

I've always had writing as a hobby, along with a curiosity towards coding. When my dear friend Cecil once slipped me the idea of a Marshmot webpage over two cups of tea and a plate of cookies, I encouraged the idea enthusiastically. Then, there was a lot more talking after that. What would go on the site and where? Who else would be working on it? In the end, there aren't many hands on deck!

While I write and code, much of the site is based on my and Cecil's brainstorming. Many of our friends and townies have seen the site and put in their own two cents. Most images and graphics on the site are sourced by myself as well. I wasn't exactly the first choice to be the web developer, that title would go to our friend Xandric. He's a professional, but that's precisely why he turned down the offer. He's already busy. That is why the site is so... charming! I was initially overwhelmed, but I'm learning as I go. There might be a few errors.

But really, all of that is not too important. What matters most is that it works and gets the name of our fun little town much more attention. And it's just another nice place to keep track of things. Look around, enjoy the site, and maybe plan a visit. You might see me! ;)

P.S: If you know how I would make the navbar menus not stack, or how to make light mode stay put across pages or sessions... Help...
